Enid Blyton Estate bought by Hachette

We may well be seeing the well known stories of children’s author Enid Blyton  upon our shelves again soon. Hachette publishers now have the power of her estate in their hands.

Hachette UK publishers have acquired the world rights to the Enid Blyton estate excluding her well known series Noddy. The author who died in 1968 has over 800 volumes to her name. Some of the best known works include the mystery series, Secret Seven, fantasy The Faraway Tree and the Mallory Towers series.

JK Rowling announces new book for adults

JK Rowling, author of the phenomenal Harry Potter novels has announced she is working on a new book for adults.

The novel will be published by Little, Brown, Book Group, leaving Bloomsbury, who published Harry Potter.

Rowling said her success with Harry Potter offered her an opportunity to explore “new territory” and with that it seemed right to move to a new publisher.
